About Tea Meditations

Creating tranquility with a cozy cup of tea

For years I’ve enjoyed a cup of tea before bedtime. I found it to be a place of quiet and winding down after the events of the day, allowing my nervous system to recalibrate so I could fall asleep. I’d also find myself using the time for my inner contemplations, receiving pictures or ideas of what I wanted to create for myself in the future. It was a time I could receive communication from my inner voice and also nourish my body with stillness and peace.

Each moment in the process of brewing a cup of tea, enjoying the aroma, feeling the warmth of the cup in your hands and drinking it can bring you back into the present moment. Everything else that you may have been experiencing before sitting down for tea can wash away as you allow the cup to bring you into a peaceful, quiet place and connect with yourself. I held my first tea meditation on the Big Island of Hawaii and have further crafted the class to facilitate nervous system regeneration and finding a tranquil place of renewal with each cup.
